“If I get 10,000 followers, I’ll be happy,” I thought to myself. But when I got it, happiness wasn’t there.
“50,000 followers is actually where happiness is.” It wasn’t.
“100,000 is where all the real happiness and opportunities are.” Nope.
Greed sends us on a never ending journey for more. More money, more status, better looks, viral videos, bigger houses, faster P.R.s, club memberships, greener lawns- MORE.
The promise is always the same, happiness and contentment lies around the next corner, and around the next corner, and around the next corner, and we’re forever chasing it. It intoxicates us with its promises of what could be, but all it does is blind us to what we have.
True happiness and contentment will never be found in new shiny things. It’s an inside thing.
